Isaac Hale Beach Park (Pohoiki)
Puna's surf bay, remade by the 2018 lava flow.
The flow built a brand new black sand beach here and left warm ponds pooled behind it. Surfers still work the bay, lifeguards are on duty, and the whole place feels raw in the best way. Swim where the guards are and mind the current.
