Kaiwa Ridge Trail (Lanikai Pillboxes)
The pillbox ridge above Lanikai, short and steep and loose.
Under a mile up an undeveloped ridge to the first WWII bunker, with the Mokulua islands floating in that unreal Lanikai water below. The state barely maintains it, so wear real shoes and watch every step. Go early... street parking is scarce, and the city asks visitors to walk, bike, or bus in from Kailua.
