Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge
A 1913 lighthouse on a cliff full of seabirds.
Red-footed boobies wheel around the point, albatross cruise past in season, and whales spout offshore in winter. The lighthouse is the postcard, the wildlife is the reason to come. Entry is by timed reservation on Recreation.gov, so book before you drive up.
