Kaiolohia (Shipwreck Beach)
Miles of windward sand with a 1940s tanker dying on the reef.
The 1940s tanker rusting on the reef is the postcard. Come for the walk: long windward sand, driftwood, whatever the channel threw up. Four-wheel drive only, about 30 minutes down Keomoku Road, and swimming is off the table. A short trail past the beach sign finds the Poʻaiwa petroglyphs.
