Panaʻewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens
A county zoo set inside an actual rainforest.
Small, shady, and genuinely pleasant, with a Saturday petting zoo the little kids remember longest. It sits just outside Hilo on Stainback Highway and takes about the length of a good nap window to see.
