Three miles round trip over black lava sea cliffs southeast from Waiʻanapanapa, past hala groves and offshore islets. The route follows Ke Ala Loa O Maui, the old around-the-island trail. Stay outside the low stone walls that mark gravesites. Non-residents need a Waiʻanapanapa entry reservation, so book before the drive.
