Kekaha Kai State Park
White sand coves hidden behind the lava fields north of the airport.
Mahaiʻula gives you a sandy crescent with picnic tables, Kua Bay at the north end brings the turquoise drama, and a coastal trail links them for the ambitious. Climb Puʻu Kuʻili on the way for the whole coastline at once. It's hot, dry country with no drinking water, so carry more than you think.
