The place of refuge, where broken kapu could be forgiven.

Our take

Royal grounds, carved kiʻi, and the great wall of the puʻuhonua sit right on a lava-and-palm shoreline. It's a sacred place, so move slowly and take it in. Snorkelers know the lava-shelf entry just north of the park as Two Step, one of the best easy reef swims on the island.
