Kuilau Ridge Trail
Ferns and green ridgelines, fifteen minutes above Wailua.
Starts on Kuamoʻo Road a hundred yards before Keahua Arboretum, then climbs easy grades through the Lihue-Koloa Forest Reserve. There's a picnic shelter partway up, views deep into the Makaleha ridges, and a link to the Moalepe Trail if you want the full 4.25-mile through-hike. Winter mud is part of the deal.
