Laupahoehoe Point Beach Park
Drive the switchbacks down and the Hamakua coast turns to spray.
A lava point where the surf hits hard enough to justify the guardrails... this is a watch-the-ocean park, not a swim park. Camping's allowed with a county permit, and the pavilions face the break. The right lunch stop on the north drive.
